Certified Medical Assistant
Jody started working at the Community Free Clinic in 2001. At the time, she had a small child and wanted to be able to spend more time with her. Working at the Community Free Clinic gave her the opportunity to do that by working part time. Through her years here, she says she has seen many changes in our community and is proud that the Free Clinic can grow and continue to provide services through these changes. “Without the Community Free Clinic I know that many people in our county would have been without access to health care and medications”. Jody’s positon at the Clinic requires her to do many tasks from putting patients in exam rooms and recording their medical history, taking vital signs, and preparing them for their examination by the provider, to drawing lab work, entering patient demographic and medical information into the electronic medical records; doing referrals for specialists; follow up with patients regarding lab work and specialty appointments; and assists Executive Director and Medical Director with quality improvement data collection, analysis, and quality improvement process and projects. Now that her daughter is grown and off to college, Jody enjoys going to visit her in Wilmington as much as she can.
