Free Lung Cancer Screening
The Atrium Health Mobile Lung Screening program will be onsite to provide lung cancer screenings. This is a mobile unit – a large bus – made possible by The Leon Levine Foundation:
The goal of the mobile lung bus is to become aware of lung cancer, screen and educate people. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in both men and women nationwide. To help find this disease at an earlier and more treatable stage, Levine Cancer developed the Mobile Lung Screening program.
The Mobile Lung Screening Program is onsite at the Community Free Clinic quarterly.
This is open to individuals in the community who qualify.
• Be between the ages of 40 to 80
• Have a 20 pack-year smoking history (this equals 1 pack a day for 20 years or 2 packs a day for 10 years)
• Currently smoke or have quit smoking within the past 15 years
Beyond the screening, this is available:
• Help with quitting smoking for those who need it
• A nurse to help guide you, answer questions and find the support you need
