Services
Primary Care
When you become a patient, you get a medical home for free. You can get your annual check-up and help when you are sick. We help manage chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure with medications and nutritional support. You’ll also get referrals to specialists at area hospitals and medical offices who donate their support to you as their patient. As a patient at the Community Free Clinic, our goal is to work with you so you can get healthy and stay healthy.

Dental Care
We have a partnership with a mobile dental unit that comes to the Clinic. There, a dentist and hygienist will help you with x-rays, tooth cleaning, a checkup and any treatment you might need. Dental screenings are available at our night clinic, thanks to volunteer dentists. A screening helps you know if you need a dentist appointment.
Specialty Care
The Community Free Clinic offers specialty care services onsite, including in-office procedures, gynecology (women’s health), gastroenterology (digestive care), and podiatry (foot care). When a service is not offered at the Clinic, patients may be referred to local medical providers or Atrium Health or Novant Health hospitals. Doctors at these locations offer a limited number of appointments for Community Free Clinic patients to receive care at no cost, helping patients get the specialty medical care they need.
Eye Care
The Community Free Clinic now offers eye care at our clinic. Dr. David Harper sees patients with eye problems, checks vision, and measures patients for glasses or contact lenses. He also works with local eye doctors when more care is needed. All eye care services are free, so patients can get the help they need.
Lifestyle Medicine
Wellness is a combination of caring for yourself through healthy living. It’s what we call Lifestyle Medicine. It’s specifically for patients with chronic diseases like diabetes. Lifestyle Medicine focuses on six areas to improve health:
- healthy eating
- physical activity like yoga and walking
- stress reduction
- healthy relationships
- improving sleep
- ending tobacco usage – no smoking
Lifestyle Medicine looks to identify the root cause of disease rather than treating symptoms. You have options for joining, and support from the Clinic to succeed.
Our Patient Services team can refer you to community resources as well.
Coming to the clinic is like going to any primary care doctor. We help when you are sick, need ongoing help for chronic diseases, vaccines, lab work, and mental health support. We’ll help you make appointments and fill out paperwork.
The first step to seeing a doctor is enrolling as a patient. Then we’ll make an appointment to see a provider.
